LOCAL EDITION #17 - Audio Newscast Series by OMB and WMBR
"Local Edition" is our continuing series of bi-weekly local audio newscasts sponsored by Open Media Boston and the WMBR Radio News Department. This is number 17 in the series.
In this week's episode, we hear reaction to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to strike down the Massachusetts "buffer-zone" law. The law had been used by health clinics to keep patients seeking reproductive health services separate from anti-abortion protesters. The court ruled that a 35 foot wide buffer was a violation of protester's first amendment rights. Plus, undocumented immigrants and their families and allies march along Boston's Freedom Trail to demonstrate against detentions and deportations. And MBTA janitors continue their fight to keep their jobs with a rally on the Boston Common.
