Communist historian Doug Enaa Greene lectures on the Russian communist Nikolai Bukharin (1888-1938) at the Center for Marxist Education in Cambridge MA on July 5, 2015.
Nikolai Bukharin was one of leading theoreticians and political leaders of the Bolshevik Party and the USSR. During the 1920s, he led one of the major Party oppositions which opposed the line of Stalin and defended a continuation of the New Economic Policy. In the 1930s, Bukharin was falsely accused of being a spy, traitor and wrecker, and he was executed after a public show trial. Bukharin has often been overshadowed by other major communist party leaders and remains slandered to this day.
