Harvard Staff Claims Retaliation by Management for Prior Sexual Assault Complaint
Cambridge, Mass. - An employee at the Harvard University Mail Services (HUMS) is claiming that management in her department is retaliating against her after she previously spoke out against alleged sexual harassment in her workplace.
Johany Pilar alleges that management is now “punishing” her due to the complaints she made against a colleague in 2012, and because she also claimed she was disciplined by management for making that initial complaint.

Boston Jobs Coalition – Downtown Crossing
The Boston Jobs Coalition continued protests at the construction site of a new building at the historic Filene’s Basement in Downtown Boston on Monday last week. As previously reported by Open Media Boston, the coalition is critical of hiring practices for people of color and women at the site. They claim that the developer, Millennium Partners, has broken city hiring laws, and hasn’t contributed mandatory affordable housing payments.

Massachusetts Nurses Association – North Adams
Nurses picketed outside the North Adams Regional Hospital on Thursday following the abrupt closing of the facility by its owners at the end of last month. The nurses and their union, the Massachusetts Nurses Association, are calling for state action to save the hospital, and hundreds of unionized jobs.
Unfair Hiring for People of Color and Women, Claims Boston Jobs Coalition
BOSTON/Downtown Crossing – The luxury building developer Millennium Partners was slammed in a demonstration at Filene’s Basement in Downtown Boston on Monday for its claimed lack of adherence to local policy that sets hiring rates for city residents, people of color, and women.
Around 200 members and supporters of the Boston Jobs Coalition picketed the condominium development before moving onto Millennium’s office on Tremont St., calling on them to meet the Boston Residents Jobs Policy (BRJP) rules, and to make required affordable housing payments to the city.
